FAQs
What is a sound bath/sound healing?
Sound healing is a restorative practice that uses guided breathing and visualization, paired with instruments such as singing bowls, gong, drums, and chimes, to create sound waves and vibrations that wash over you as you simply lie down, close your eyes, and let the frequencies move through you. Think of it as a relaxing form of meditation where you don’t have to work and just allow the sound to do the work of quieting your mind for you.
How does it work?
Sound isn't just auditory. It's an embodied experience. You've probably felt chills or goosebumps from a song, been transported back through a memory, felt butterflies in your stomach, or had the urge to move your body to music. That's the body responding to sound before the mind even catches up. Sound can be used to guide you into a meditative state, soften anxious energy, and calm the nervous system.
What are the benefits?
Clients have expressed feeling lighter and more relaxed, with a calmer, clearer mind and more room for creativity, less tension and tightness in the body, feeling less reactive or overwhelmed, a stronger connection to themselves, and deeper, better sleep.
Who is it for?
Sound baths are ideal for anyone seeking stress relief, deep relaxation, or relief from thought loops, regardless of physical fitness, age, or prior meditation experience, since they require only lying down and listening. They're especially beneficial for people who struggle with traditional silent meditation, as immersive vibrations guide the brain into slower, meditative states with minimal effort, which is why the practice is widely sought after by those experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, or burnout, people with overactive minds who struggle to “switch off,” and anyone wanting to release physical or emotional tension.

What should I bring or do to prepare?
Wear comfy clothes - soft loose layers you'd wear to relax at home
Bring a blanket/wrap - body temperature can drop when you're deeply relaxed, so having something cozy nearby helps
Bring a mat - a yoga mat or something comfortable to lie on, plus anything that helps you feel supported like a bolster, pillow, eye mask, etc.
Small beloved items - you may want to have some of your crystals, favorite plushie, photos of loved ones to journey with you
Bring a notebook - if you wish to journal your reflections after the session
Eat lightly beforehand - a heavy meal right before can make it harder to relax into stillness; a light meal or snack 1-2 hours prior is ideal
Skip caffeine if you can - it can make it harder to settle into a meditative state
Bring water - staying hydrated is important
Turn your phone off or on Do Not Disturb
Come with an open mind, not an agenda - there's no “right” way to experience a sound bath, so whatever comes up (or doesn't) is okay
Give yourself space afterward - if possible, avoid rushing right back into a busy schedule and give yourself some quiet time afterward to allow your body to process the experience
What will happen during the session?
During a sound healing session, you'll lie down, close your eyes, and settle in as I guide you through some grounding breaths and visualizations. Then we'll ease into about 40 minutes of just sound with singing bowls, gong, drums, and chimes.
Everyone experiences it differently. You might feel tingly, see colors, notice visions or symbols, feel stuck emotions begin to surface, feel deeply relaxed, or even fall asleep. All are okay. The invitation is simply to let go of control, let your breath guide you, and allow whatever happens to happen. Afterward, I'll gently guide you back.
What should I expect after?
Many people leave feeling lighter and more relaxed, with less tension, a clearer and calmer mind, a lifted mood, and a stronger connection to themselves. Afterward, take it easy, stay hydrated, move slowly, and listen to what your body needs. Give yourself permission to rest. You'll probably sleep very well that night. And in the days that follow, allow yourself space to integrate the experience.
